Have served 5 years as Councillor. I understand the complexity of the Local Govertment Act and how we have to work within that. This takes some time to master. Bureacracy is the most frustrating part of local government and too often this causes stress when residents interact with council. I have a strong interest in streamlining governance and processes so that our community can interact with council in a more positive way than in the past.

Yes. This is a major advocacy piece for the council and as the Councillor where most of the excess land is, we need some of this land released for future growth.

Local government has a strong role to play as the permits are approved at Council level. State needs to work more with MPS as we both want the same thing, to provide much needed housing in appropriate areas, where transport and services are already located.

This is an essential service for the Southern Peninsula and MPS has continued to advocate to State for security of site and funding of this vital hospital.

I am not doing this for a career move, to get on my cv or ego trip. I have long been involved in community groups and community projects. As your Full time councillor I am your voice and facilitator for positive results. My record will show I am approachable, respond to communication quickly and am happy to meet to discuss any issues. I want to get things done, to improve our surroundings and facilities.

That I could see projects completed, sports facilities improved for our growing population, better streetscapes and vibrant towns. I'd like to be remembered as someone who worked hard for the benefit of the community, not self.

This has become a very important relationship to advocate for the peninsula with other levels of government. I only see the connection strengthening.

People need to chose their representative carefully. Someone who has the passion, commitment and importantly, time, to cover all aspects of the position. This is not a part time job for me. From a callout about an overhanging tree, potholes or getting a large project funded, your Councillor needs to be there for all. I will always make time for all issues.
