Better targeted and funded skills and training for the Peninsula
This month's Members Breakfast Briefing was held at Chisholm Institute in Rosebud where our members were briefed on the current and projected skills required to meet workforce demand in our region.
Conor Mullan, Chief of Education at Chisholm Institute, provided a presentation to members outlining where the regions' skills shortfalls sit and where training opportunities need to be targeted in coming years.
We were grateful to have in the room the Member for Nepean, Sam Groth MP, and Member for Eastern Victoria, Tom McIntosh MP, as well as large contingent of Mornington Peninsula Shire Councillors and local business leaders.
Rosebud campus has a strategically important role to play in the coming decades across a number of industries and fields, including: agriculture, horticulture, hospitality, wellness, health care, aged care, and work in renewables and hydrogen.
The Committee believes Chisholm's impact in these spaces can be transformative for workforce participation and skill development across the Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula catchment.
Thank you to Chisholm for an informative briefing and delicious breakfast - cooked by your cookery students!
