Frankston Hospital Redevelopment - Committee Briefing
Committee for Frankston & Mornington Peninsula members attended a breakfast briefing this morning at Frankston RSL, where Peninsula Health provided a presentation on the redevelopment of the Frankston Hospital.
The $1.1 billion project is the most significant building in our community, with progress now more than 50% complete. Peninsula Health CEO, Felicity Topp, talked members through the journey of how the project got to where it is today. Felicity commended the advocacy of the previous Committee for Greater Frankston on helping build momentum in the community and within the Victorian Government for this much needed project.
Peninsula Health's Bridget Rusling provided detail about the build itself. The hospital infrastructure is significant - with the new tower to house a new and expanded Emergency Department, operating theatre, medical imaging, women's health services and birthing suites, cancer inpatient wards, mental health inpatient wards, a new car park, parks and vegetation, and a helipad!
The Frankston and Mornington Peninsula community will be looking forward to early 2026 when the hospital redevelopment opens to the public.
We'd also like to wish outgoing Peninsula Health CEO, Felicity Topp, all the best in her future endeavours as she departs her role next month. Felicity's contribution to our community during this entire project and during a global pandemic is commendable, and the community is incredibly thankful for her service.
Thanks to Corporate Gold Member Frankston RSL for your support in hosting this exclusive briefing for CFMP Members.
